My Sister, Nephew and Me!!
The past two weeks have been crazy, as they have been jammed packed with activities and exciting-ness. Once my sister and nephew arrived in Lincoln, they had a night to catch up on sleep, before we headed off to Prague, the Friday before last. What an amazing place this was. It is a place I would recommend to everyone for sure. We enjoyed drinks and a breathtaking view from a famous building once we got there, and then Friday night we took a dinner cruise. This took us all around the city, and seeing all the lights and buildings at night was really pretty. We had a delicious 3 course meal consisting of traditional Czech food, and ended the night with the famous flaming Absinthe shot...legal in Prague. Wow! This was all while, an accordion was played to entertain us.
Saturday we enjoyed an all day walking tour of the entire city. This took us through the New Square, the Old Town Square, The Jewish Quarters, and Prague Castle. We also enjoyed another boat ride, this time during the sunny hours of the day, and it was amazing to see the city at this time. Old Town Square was one of my most favorite places, as the buildings surrounding the square were very neat, with bright colors. There was a market going on as well, and this is the spot of the astronomical clock that just fascinated me. This was a clock that had about 12 different clock/counters in one. Amazing! St. Charles Bridge was awesome to walk across as it had many statues along the way, and then St. Vitus Cathedral at Prague Castle was just amazing. So different from other cathedrals, and still so grand. Saturday night we had one of the best Mexican food dinners...EVER...yes, that is right, Mexican food in Prague. A friend had told me about this place, and they definitely didn't steer us wrong. After the delicious-ness we joined a ghost walk through the streets of Old Town Square.
Sunday was our day to souvenir shop. On top of this, we climbed to the top of a tower in Old Town Square to see Prague from above. We also enjoyed walking through the Torture Museum...although it was quite painful to think about what the people went through. And unfortunately the trip ended Sunday afternoon with us all flying back to Lincoln. Asa was an amazing baby the entire trip.
